San Diego is home to tens of thousands of
Filipinos, with many Filipino youth serving the community through
Embrace, the perfect circumstances to cause the birth of Embrace The
Philippines, our organization's first international humanitarian
campaign.
Embrace The Philippines is a student-led effort, with Phase I consisting of collecting canned goods and a goal of 10,000 cases of water by June 30, 2012. Our Phase II goal is to collect another 10,000 cases of water by July 31, 2012.
A huge supporter of assisting at risk-youth, Aztec and NFL Hall of Famer, Marshall Faulk, has written a check to Embrace The Philippines for $2,000 (http://www.marshallfaulk.com)
The funds will be split in half. $1,000 will be awarded go to the student organization (or school) that collects the most canned goods and water. The other $1,000 will go to the youth ministry (church, synagogue or mosque) that collects the most donated items.
We're calling on San Diego's youth to show that we can come together, serve together and help Filipinos in Manila, PI - together! For more information on Embrace The Philippines contact Rebecca Bamberger of Bam Communications at
